View Full Version : Clips not ingesting in FCP P2 Import

All was working fine on first few projects. During last few imports a few clips are going idle in queue and will not import.
I've run several tests varying timecode, using different cards, going from camera, P2 store, Powerbook. Also tried trashing FCP prefs, restarting.

Obviously a very disconcerting problem. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

We've been seeing some of this is FCP 5.1.2. Is that the version you are using?

Yes, 5.1.2. I've installed all updates.

We have been finding that sometimes FCP 5.1.2 just refuses to import clips. Apple is aware of this yet we have seen no response. I still have FCP 5.1.1 on a back-up system drive and when I cannot import clips in 5.1.2, I boot in that drive an import using 5.1.1. Once the clips have been re-wrapped as QuickTimes, then FCP 5.1.2 has no problem with them.

While there is a problem with P2 import in OS X in general, it seems much more pronounced in 5.1.2

I'm with Ned. 5.1.2 busted the P2 Import option. I too kept an old version of FCP (I kept all versions from 4.5 on up) and import with that.

Might be wise to jsut get yourself back to 5.1 and try that, since 5.1.1 is no longer available....shame.

I have had this same issue. The clips play in the 5.1.2 P2 import window, but will not import. I use P2 Log and just make the stubborn clips into Quicktimes. I hope Apple comes up with a solution- it is annoying.

Thanks guys. Hoping for a better solution, but good to know I can stop going nuts.

Send Apple feedback. I think they need to keep hearing from P2 users.

I actually had this problem with 5.1.1, too.
