So more M. Night news: http://www.darkhorizons.com/news07/070128l.php

I knew he wasn't going to do that stupid weird Nickelodean movie. It just seemed too odd of a choice. But the best part of all this is seeing Shymalan get his first cold taste of humble pie after six years of living the Hollywood high life. No studio wants to make your movie. Ouch. And this is for someone who's movies don't cost a lot of money. And they still don't want to make it.

Ouch.

Shymalan. You think you're so amazing and gifted and are writing for the masses through God. Well put up your own money then. Show us that you really have confidence in your ideas.

M. night should go into seclusion for 5 years, grow a scary coppola beard, and then come back and make a low budget thriller. Something really dark, that would creep the shit out of everyone.

Based on the crap reviews of LADY IN THE WATER that everyone gave him in another thread, I had to go rent it. I had to see what all the crummy fuss was about.

I plan to watch it today...

As a whole I think he's a solid writer/director. There's one thing you can't deny, he's original. He doesnt knock it out of the park every time, but he has his own style and it's not cookie cutter. That's my humble opinion. I've enjoyed all his films. I think he gets a raw deal, he's the director folks love to hate I suppose.

^ Agreed. Solid writer, solid director. Maybe having a bad run with the audience, doesn't mean he's any less talented.

That being said... there's already another M. Night bashing thread. Let's not make another one. This news was posted IN that thread, as well.

oh, oops. the news of the new movie was reported in there? Sorry, the date on that story was, I believe, yesterday, so I thought it was new. Anyway, I don't think there can ever be enough M. Night bashing threads.

*Looks at what is in theatres right now (epic Movie...etc...)

Ya, trusting that what HOLLYWOOD has to say about your movie is a little misled. Popular thing to do is bash M. Night?
