I'd say try out the demo first...It has all of the controls the actual purchased program would but it just renders out with an X over the comp.....But it has a lot of possibilities and with your talents with AE I'm pretty sure it would be a good buy.....
P.S.
The plug-in is easy to use as well....:cheesy:

Particular is one of the most useful and versatile plugs for AE out there currently. It's usable for so much more than just typical particles. A must have

Agreed, Particular comes in handy for so many more things than what the name implies. Honesly, I probably use it on things other than particles more than particles themselves.

Lots of Particular in this one, from the explosions and fireworks to the array of flying clocks, shovels, bullets, and flak bursts.
As Kyle says, it's great for all sorts of things. I use it instead of 3d Stroke in pretty much all instances, to generate flocks of birds, snowfall, etc. So yeah, definitely worth the money, but why not go ahead and try out the demo first?

I'm on AE7... Here's what the message says:
"The file "Particular150Installer-1.sit" is broken, the format is unkown or it isn't a graphics file. Below, after this text is a dump of the datafork of the file. Please contact us if you do have the technical file format details.
What do i do?

Why would it be concerned if it's a graphics file? It's not. Are you trying to open it IN After Effects? The .sit is a compressed file, like a .zip. It should just decompress in the Finder when you open it there, unless somehow .sit files have gotten associated with some other app on your machine. In which case you should still be able to right-click it and try "Open With..."

Try re-downloading, and/or download the latest Stuffit Expander from the Stuffit website.
I just downloaded it last night and installed it and it worked fine.

Were you trying to open the .sit file in AE7? It should dump a folder or files to the AE7/plugins folder. Then when you open AE it should show up in the effects column. At least thats what it did to me.
