Can't you hold down the Option key or Shift-Option or something to override that? I'm not a Mac user, but I believe there is a keyboard modifier to allow that.

Get the P2 Genie ($33) at www.p2genie.com.
It offloads the card and even automates deleting it.
VERY handy.

From what I've been told, you should delete the P2 content in camera, NOT on your computer. Just format the cards in camera after transfering your content.

The problem with deleting the clips in the camera is that it disrupts shooting, because you can't delete clips or format cards without going into MCR mode.
Also, deleting all clips in the camera is no different from deleting all clips on a computer, rather than formatting the card. Therefore I disagree that it is necessary to delete the clips or format the card in the camera -- anything that understands FAT32 will be able to access and update the P2 card correctly.

Actually, trashing your P2 card content in your computer is a BAD idea (at least on a Mac) as there are a ton of hidden files in there. You should erease (format) your P2's in camera. This is the safest way to delete your clips. I don't know about disrupting shooting. I've never tried to delete while shooting, but I imagine you're right. It would be difficult.
