Hey folks, I'm hoping this is a simple fix.

I keyed some shots in AE using keylight. Now, I need to export the clips with their transparent BG so I can composite in another program (FCP).

Maybe I'm crazy but I swear I've done this before. Problem is when I export, the BG video gets written as black.

Please help.

Go into your render setting and where you select the codec make sure RGB+Alpha is selected.

You can sometimes also recognize it by the "+"-sign after millions of colors+

I'm pretty sure that Final Cut can handle a targa sequence, in which case you'll want to set your render queue to export "targas with alpha" (which is 32 bit, if it's just set at default 24, you'll get a black background). If you turn the transparency switch on in AE (at the bottom of your preview window), and change your output format to targa, it usually defaults to have an alpha (transparency).. Hope that helps.

Thanks guys.

I ended up going into my mkae movie prefs and sellecing millions of colors and choosing RGB without an alfa channel.

When I try to render it pops an error window but once I continure I get a transparent BG that I can export.

Thanks again,
