Hello...

Has anyone had any experiance using the fig rig with the XH-A1 before? I tested it in a shop recently and was very impressed. However the shop had no LANC controls in stock so I was unable to test fully. How easy do you think it is to operate the camera's focus using the manfrotto MN521Pro control?

Thank you

Can't say about the FigRig (looks like a steering wheel to me :-)) but from what I've read the 521Pro is one of the few controllers that can do AF with the A1.
I'd pick one up myself if they weren't so dang expensive (almost $300)... but I am seriously considering it's little brother the 521 (although it does not support AF).

Thanks Kirock7...

I meant more how is it for controling the camera's focus manually. This is because I often tend to have my subjects not cental in frame and the camera often focuses on something in the background...

i'm thinking of getting one too but i have an m2 adapter and i'm worried it might be too heavy. does the fig rig have a weight capacity?

If you're worried about the wiehgt factor, then you may want to take a look at the DVTEC DV MultiRig (http://www.dvmultirig.com/).
As one of the multitude of configurations that you can shoot in is a Fig Rig mode (supported with a 2 section support pod or without the pod).

The fig rig has no weight capacity but can be really tiring on your arms and back.

I have vast experience with the Fig Rig and have solved many issues regarding the steering wheel. I've invented a device that allows shooters more flexibility using the Fig Rig.http://www.sinivision.com/Products.htm
