I'm shooting with the HVX, using the FS-100 and a single 4GB P2 card. Yesterday, I was shooting 720/24p to the FS-100, but due to the abyssmal running time of the stock FS-100 battery, I was forced to start shooting onto the P2 card. To record what I need to record, I used 720/24pN to the P2 card, so at least I was able to get 10 minutes of record time. Of course, this illustrates that I really haven't done my homework on shooting and posting HVX footage, as I now realize that I'm going to have some difficulty using both of these footage types in one project without some conversion of some kind. What sort of software/hardware do I need to use all of this footage in one project? Is it better to convert the 24p into 24pN, or vice-versa? We edit with Avid Xpress Pro 5.6.4 on both PC and Mac, but I also have access to FCP 5.1.2, if that helps at all. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated, as I'm sure I'll have to do this again, until the new FS-100 firmware comes about and I invest in some more batteries...

Thanks!

All you need is the long life battery that Focus Enhancements sells for the FS-100. It will outlast the HVX battery with ease.

Oh, believe me... it's on the short "need-to-buy" list. In the meantime, what can I do to utilize both types of footage simultaneously? I've read a little on DVFilm Maker, but I'm unclear as to whether this will help me achieve what I need or not. Would After Effects allow me to add/remove pulldown, if I were to use QuickTimes instead of MXFs?

For pulldown I'd use Cinema Tools, for sure.
