Hello everyone,
I'm about to burn a standard 4.7 GB DVD with 720/24p footage with DVD studio pro off of Final Cut Studio. My question to you guys is, how do I keep all my footage on one standard 4.7 gig DVD without losing that beautiful quality?????
Thanks all,
Carl
The standard of a dvd is 640x480. That's just the way it is. The good news is that it's 4.2.0 color space so it will retain most of the rich color of DVCPro 720p. Try exporting your timeline to a QT self contained movie and then compressing that in Compressor. But, I've heard that you should drop your 720 timeline in a DVCPro-50 timeline, render and then drop that in Compressor. I've also got 720/24 as well and will be running some test's to see what works best. Good luck! (I used to work in Deerfield Beach)

Actually, Full D1 is 720x480 for NTSC. The 4:2:0 color space is inferior compared to DVCPro, it's the same as HDV.
There really is no way to retain the full detail of 720p footage on standard DVDs, but with the right tools and workflow, you should still be able to get terrific looking video.
