iso a great 500gb external hd to use to transport p2 files from my pc/laptop to my mac g5 for rough cutting in fcp.
would like some suggestions... would like to get a drive that can be used easily & is fairly durable.

Also look at CalDigit Firewire VR. REMOVEABLE drives in a firewire case. Makes archiving a bit easier:

Which one from caldigit would you recommend for shooting a feature in 1080/24p? I was looking at the s2vr but im not sure if thats big enough? Never shot hd before.

one of my colleagues has just trialed half a dozen external HD's to use with P2,
an he can not stop raving about the 500gb Western Digital MyBook

I would recommend the AMS External Raid Enclosure.
Especially for security and archiving purposes.

Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM USB2 / 1394a drives. Any size between 120 - 750GB. No errors or failures in 3TB to date.
