Switching HVR-Z1U to Pal 50i

I have a client with an overseas division needing footage shot in the US. Has anyone switched an HVR-Z1U in PAL mode? There is no documentation for this in the manual, but one of the menu options is 50i/60i select. If I toggle that option from 60i to 50i I'm asked: "Change to 50i? Reboot after change.

Am I correct in assuming that if I switched to 50i I would begin recording a PAL format DVCAM or HDV tape useful to our European clients? Does anyone know what ramifications there would be to the dreaded "reboot" I don't have any personal settings I need to preserve, but would I possibly loose any factory set-up information or discover other unintended consequences?

Yes it would record PAL DVCAM or European 50Hz HDV, appropriate for European client use.

There are no ramifications to the reboot process, nor is it "dreaded" ;) It's just what the camera needs to do when switching between formats.

I don't know whether it'll lose any settings though.
