Monitor for laptop

Hey i have a sony vaio fe660g laptop that i do most of my editing on, i was thinking about purchasing the 22inch gateway monitor. I was wondering if there are anythings ishould be aware about? my laptops monitor has a resoluton of 1280 by 800 and the gateway has a resolution of 1650 by 1050. i just wanted to make sure it would run correctly and stuff, and if there are any problems i should be aware of.

Since gateway monitor have higher resolution , you wont have any problem .go ahead .

The think you'll want to look at is what your laptop video card handles. As long as it handles whatever resolution the external monitor is, you're golden.
