Hi all,

I know this has been covered, but I can't find the info through the search engine, so forgive my beginners question.

Here's my workflow, P2 (P2 Genie) download using a Dell laptop to two external HDD's, one of which is back up. Then editing using FCP.

Question, do I need to partition the drives spefically for the PC when offloading my files? and do I need to do anything different when attaching it to my G5 for editing?

thanks in advance!

I believe if you format them as fat 32, they should be compatible with both pc and mac.

FAT32 is only needed if you want to be able to write to the drive using both the Mac and PC. If you only need read-only access on the Mac, then NTFS would be a better choice.

Another option would be installing MacDrive on the PC -- this would give it the ability to read/write HFS volumes.
