I recently bought a V1 (U.S. model) from a local camera dealer, and when I got home and opened the box, I noticed that none of the cables (ie: component, usb, etc.) were NOT in plastic baggies.
Every Sony camcorder I have ever purchased had plastic baggies for everything. But my V1 had bags for everything EXCEPT the cables.
Is this normal?
For those of you who own a USA V1, did your cables come in baggies?
I want to make sure that my camera wasnt previously used or tampered with.
thanks.

I thought the same thing when I opened mine...
no plastic baggies for the cables.
I checked the meter on my cam and it had not been run.
Pretty sure we are OK...

Thanks btdig,
That makes me feel a little knowing that I am not the only one. Maybe this is just the way sony packs the V1U's.
Anyone else have the same experience when they opened their V1?

Nope, we got two of them and all our cables were in baggies.
Maybe just an oversight.

btdig,
The manual says that the V1 does not include a tape or memory card.
Mine had a tape in the box when I opened it. You?

Mark, I would if I could, but my current computer is too old to handle the footage (I'm getting a new one soon!) But let me tell you, I used to own an HVX, and while the HVX has the nicest colors around, the Sony appears sharper and has less noise. At least to my eye.
