Hey guys,
I have been reading posts here for a long time but I think this is my first post. I've had my dvx100b since about last March or April. This is my first project with the dvx, I made it last April when I was a senior in high school. About 95% of it was shot with the dvx100b and the other 5% was shot with the Ag-DVC60. I had no real lighting equipment, all lighting was done with my school's overhead projectors.
The 20 min. movie was for our awards ceremony that we have at the end of the year. It's where students win different scholarships and awards (I won Outstanding Student in TV Broadcasting... we didn't have any motion picture program). It's taken pretty seriously, students wear suits and dresses. The "previously at GBN" was taken from the year before's senior awards where our Student Association board (a step above Student Council) was announced. The movie is a parody of 24 (sort of) and is similar to what the Oscar, Emmy, and MTV award shows do. It's done every year, the year before mine was Ocean's 11 and the year before that was The Matrix.
Anyways, the movie is about how seniors throughout the school are going missing. You may not understand many of the jokes because they deal with my high school. And for any Duke basketball fans, Jon Scheyer is in the movie. I'd appreciate any comments you have about it. Here's the link:

lol
that was actually not that bad. i enjoyed watching it just for the style, regadless of the poor acting and all the other obvious flaws.

but wow, for just the camera, and such, very very very well executed! your on your way!

hey cory, thanks for sharing.

the intro had me HOOKED. if only the rest of the film were as good as THAT! -- cool stuff.

the color was good, the lighting was poor along with the acting and some of the blocking. sometimes you rested too long on your master shots and i really didnt like seeing the camera pan so much. (especially SOME of the zooms you had... either al servo that or dont zoom at all!) =)

good stuff for your first post, though, man. wow!

Agreed. That's was awsome. Some sound issues and some major acting issues but wow, you've got some talent for sure.

Hey thanks guys for the comments. Yea the acting obviously wasn't that great but compared to the past years the acting was actually one of the better years... And actually Yuriy (the dark haired field agent) is a pretty good actor, he got a pretty big scholarship to Michigan for acting. Yea and for the lighting, as I said, I didn't have any real lights, it was all overhead projects so I did what I could.
Again thanks guys for the comments, anyone else who has watched the movie I would appreciate your comments too.

aside from the acting, it's really good, esp for a senior in high school. gets me excited for tomorrow night

just wondering, what program did you use to make the intro?

Are you talking about the "06" clicking on the screen? If so, I used After Effects and Photoshop.

Also, where did you find the sound effect/sound file of the ticking clock?

hey sorry I haven't been on here in a while. Each different part that clicks on are different layers that I created in photoshop, and then i also put another layer behind it and brought the opacity down in the later part of it. I also used a 3rd party plug in, I think it was called shine by trapcode, but I am not positive cause I don't have it on my computer here at school, I have it on my editor at home.
As for the sound effect of the sound effect/sound file of the ticking clock, I am not sure which one you are talking about. If your talking about the ticking in the begening where the 06 clicks on, I got that from the 24 soundtrack. If your talking about the clock transitions with the multiscreen, I ripped that from the DVD.
Hope this helped, sorry it was so late, if you got any other questions feel free to ask.
