Hi all, I recieved my A1 a week ago and have been playing around with it ever since. I'm very impressed with some of the images I've got from it.

I'm shooting in a club later in the week to get some demo footage, I want it to look as good as possible, I've been getting quite a bit of grain in some of my lowlight shots so far ( although I just discovered I had the AGC switch set to ON) I'm just wondering how the camera will hold up with the rapid colour/light changes in a club.
If anybady here has some experience in this kind of situation I would be very grateful for any advise you could offer, I'll only have one chance to get this footage so i want it t be as good as possible

Thanks in advance

Declan

Yes, definitely keep the AGC off. You also might consider locking in the White Balance. Take a look at the various presets on this forum and dvinfo.net and test out some low light presets (haven't looked, I assume some have been uploaded). I'm pretty sure there are some threads discussing this as well; there should be some tips there.

Overall the best thing to do then is find comparable light and record to tape using a variety of settings for review. You know how it is, some people think 12db gain is fine but you might only find 6db acceptable.
