Hey didn't know if I posted this or not but shortly after my first attempt at the car hit i wanted to try another one...So I incorporated it into a TV spot for a Quiznos commercial contest....Didn't win but it made for a good excuse to use the car hit effect again....Really random I know...But it was fun...

really nice hit. I tried doing it but got confused. Here is what I have
SHot w/ no one
Shot w/ person in st
shot w/ passing car.
Do i have to go frame by frame and mask just the person and move them out of frame?

One thing with poeple using that method that causes me to never buy the effect is they never wrap the body around the car. Its always a straight body when they get hit and its very unrealistic. After you draw your mask around the body and move it over like it is there, try and distort it at the top a bit to wrap it around the vehicle. It will look much better that way and less like he is a statue getting hit.

What's wrong with the spot is that there's no story. It drags you along until the guy gets hit by the car. By the time you get to the effect the viewer could care less. The effect and the kicker (guy on the windshield) are OK, but because everything else leading up to that point is so lame it kills the ending. Content is King.

Nice one mate.
Here's one of our famous Dutch TV weather forecaster calles "Piet Paulusma". There's some commotion about this one in the Netherlands... at least - it made it to the national radio and probably TV too.
This one is of course fake too, but it's done really well.

So I'm guessing they used a dummy for this one? It's nice to see a different angle of the hit....Anything else specially done to this that I'm not seeing? After Effects...Roto the man with a horizontal blur effect....Then the dummy comes in after he is out of the shot....Right?

Well I'm not really sure when the dummy comes in. If you watch close, you can see the dummy sliding in front of the car while it's still moving. Maybe that was also another pass.
