Get inside Apple's head and let them know WE NEED FCP/M2T SUPPORT!

I'm not sure how much of an impact we can have but I believe in the ripple effect, especially if we keep spreading the word and more folks submit the message.

I just sent mine in and it takes no more then a minute or two.

Thank you Dlight for the link.

I'm sorry to be ignorant, but why do we need M2t support? Would it make direct capture easier? I have no problems with whatever Apple is currently doing. Should I?

Thanks -

In fact, m2t editing may be a bit more processor intensive than the current HDV support. Reason being that the computer has to decode and demux the MPEG stream on the fly (demux is separating the video and audio into different tracks) whereas the current capture process demuxes the footage rather than on the timeline.

I'm able to get RT fades, dissolves, 3 way CC etc. currently with my G5 and Kona LH card.

Yes, it would make it easier. It would eliminate the conversion phase so that you could edit in FCP.

Elton, you just spoke way over my head there, lol.

uhhh why not just covert to .tga? or .tiff? image sequences? By editing in M2T wont it slow down the editing workflow? If not then great, but if so, that seems a bit silly?

Rumor has it that FCP will release an update to support m2t files "early
July to late august and maybe sooner"
