but I'm not quite there.

If you remember my previous questions, I was looking to take a still photograph, and make small squares that sort of "floated" around. Well, I accomplished that (in "Motion"), but i'm not satisfied with it.

Long story short, I've come up with a MUCH simpler goal. I've taken my still photograph, and used the "liquify" filter to distort it. Then I started adding keyframe's throughout the 1 minute comp, and changed the "distortion percentage" at each keyframe. I REALLY like the look its giving me. The picture now sort of "grows" around throughout the background, almost like it's a living thing.

My question: Is there an easier way to keep the picture moving around (liquifing) without having to keyframe evey two seconds, change the disortion percentage, and move around the smudge tool to change the movement?

You know... sort of "warp" around the screen, like an acid trip or something, but slowly.

I'm sure there is, I just don't know how. If not... it's cool, I'll continue the way I've been doing it.

muchos gracias

Try using the turbulent displace filter and keyframe the phase a few revolutions. play with the settings first.

Some of the Cycore distort effects might help you with this.

A moving Fractal Noise plus Caustics will do the trick.

Andrew, your idea worked perfectly, and gave me exactly what I was after. Thank you very much. I appreciate all the advice from everyone, but... honestly... I didn't even get past Andrews idea, as it worked out great.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Now that I've got the effect... I'm off to attempt to track the footage ;)
