I know this is something so basic that you experts have all figured it out a long time ago, but I can't seem to get decent frame grabs from my HVX footage.
Quicktime pro has an easy frame export option, but the quality is notoriously bad.
FCP can export frames through Quicktime conversion that are great--but here's the catch: the DVCPRO HD codec uses 1.33:1 pixels, and any exported frames from FCP have only square pixels.
There is a pixel ascpect ratio option in Photoshop, but the quality leaves something to be desired, and is only preserved when saving as a PNG file--adding one more step if I want the final product to be a jpg.
I see you guys all submitting awesome frame grabs from your footage, and I know there must be something I'm overlooking. If anybody has any tips, I would be greatly appreciative.
Thanks.
