Hey y'all,
I have to start editing a feature documentary in FCP 5.1.2, but might need to transfer the project over to an Avid later. If I renamed the tape names in P2 Log to match the P2 Volumes, could I export an EDL later from FCP that the Avid could use to batch digitize off the .MXF's? Is there any other way to export a project from FCP to Avid?
Also, I have been told that under no circumstances should you change the clip name, because the 6-digit clip name is the most important thing which will point back to your original .MXF's in case of a problem, and that the 20-digit user clip name is not important and you can change that or delete that data if you wish. Is that true?
