Well i have owned a Sony DSR-PD150 from 2002-2005 and then a DVX100A from 2005-OCT 06 and finally i got the XL2 and i have to say personally i think its tons better then any DV camera on the market! I do have one question about a future purchase i plan to make in the spring--does the Canon EF adapter work like a 35mm adapter only it works with 35mm lenses from Canon? Or am i better off getting the LEtus 35 Flip or the M2?

The EF adapter only lets you use Canon photo lenses, it is nothing but a piece of metal...
For the XL series Iīd go with the Letus35XL or the Canon manual lense, the M2 wonīt directly attach to the Xls body but will rather be placed in front of the 20x lens, so the whole detachable lens advantage of the XL becomes obsolete...
Congrats to your XL2, IMHO the best "prosumer" SD cam out there...!

Spartacus, By anychance you know of the website for the LetusXL? Also, does the Manual Lens have a shallow DOF?

http://www.letus35.com/

shallow DOF: open the iris and zoom in, works with any zoomlens ;o)

hey again,
just checked your profile since your questions seemed a bit too rudimentary for a senior member (no offence buddy;o) )...
Make sure to watch the XL feature tour here:
http://dvcreators.net/media/demos/xl2featuretour/xl2featuretour.html
really a good starting point to learn about videography with the XL...
Good luck, itīs a great cam and donīt forget to post your progress here (and by that keep the XL2 section alive;o) )
