Did anyone ever try this shoulder support:

I have a video innovators s-800 and I feel it's kind of small and awkward to use. The shoulder rest is too small and the cameras ends up way too close to my face. Some month ago I was shooting an interview and after 2 hours of shooting, the s-800 was really bugging me. The shoulder support displayed on this ebay ad actually looks better and it's quite affordable. Anyone?

I can see that not many people tried it, but many people will try it now. I checked the ebay link and the 10 units sold out. This guy should give me a commission.

Wow, a very clever design. And flexible too, as you can add the counterweights. I just wonder how long you can hold it all in balance, because to shoot we move around.

But a single or dual handle would solve that. Pity this guy is not offering that as an option too.

Picture this: an horizontal bar, one handle on each end. Depending on the size of these handles, you might even have a table tripod with the other end.

and there's this thing i build for about $8 .. a weight can be hung on the back of it for counterweighting but as of right now.. i'd just have to add some sort of semi-circle type shoulder support so it's easier on the shoulder

Yes, I had seen that design of yours. Clones the Spiderbrace quite well.

Did you use a connecting box in the middle, to hold the camera?

Just a simple 3/8" screw from below?

How did you mold the tubes? In the oven?

Exactly my thoughts. I wish they would have included a handle. Anyway, they're all sold out. I've been keeping my eye on ebay but no new units have been post for sale. I wrote the guy to see if he'll sell more. I'd really like to try one. The counter weight is a really nice touch. It's hard to find a really good should support under 100$.

There's also this other shoulder support made by (apparently) the same guy:

Seems nice too and reasonably priced.

Yes, I saw that one before but it didn't really do it for me. Actualy it would be perfect if this guy would make a support that was a mix between these 2. 2 handles plus the counter-weight.

E aí, Carlos, como vai a cidade maravilhosa? Já tou com saudade de uma picanha e de um cupim ;-)

Yep, connecting box in the middle. it's a 1/4" eyelet screw w/ some nuts in between to keep it from falling out or going too far into the camera mount.

I used a butane torch .. but a heat gun would work too.. just make sure to fill the pipe with sand first to keep it from crinkling (technical term ;))

Completely agreed. I even had a closer look on this shoulder support to see if an aluminium piece could be added on the back.

On the other I already said that a bar + two handles could be added easily.

Muito quente. Começou o calor. Boas festas!
