I recently shot an interview and part way through realized the the 12db gain had been accidentaly activated. I was shooting in HD720p at 24p.

With the DVX100 while shooting 24p this gain feature was not available.
I wrongly assumed while in progressive mode with the HVX200 it was not an active feature.

Has this been a problem for others? I never intentionally use gain so I have set everything to 0.

The DVX100A and DVX100B both enabled gain in 24P, so it's something we've long been aware of. Gain on the HVX is not something you routinely want to employ, as it does get splotchy and noisy. Setting the switch to "0" on both settings can obviously prevent it from happening; I keep the "gain display" enabled in the viewfinder so it'll say "0dB" or "6dB" or "12dB" and that way you know if it's on.

Or, as I say when I caution use of gain with the HVX.... "No gain, no pain."

Thanks all. What a gift to have this site. Barry, if you would only write a complete manual for Canopus Broadcast 4.
