FCP 4.1 does not recognize my deck (DVX100A).
Ok. So I've used FCP 4 on my system before. I recently switched hard drives and just successfully pushed through a problem of getting the application to open past loading the audio filters. Took a lot of tries of deleting prefs and unplugging/plugging in other devices. (the program is finicky towards common USB devices like headphones).
The app opens, but absolutely will not "see" my deck connected via firewire 400. I've tried all the common known cures: Restarting after checking connection in System Profiler (it's recognized by the computer), turning camera on in VTR mode, set camera to "DV Out", restart/reboot computer before and after connecting firewire cables, etc.
It has always worked in the past. I am at a loss. Does the OS system or FCP app require some sort of plug-in for the DVX?
Running a PowerPC G4 on OS 10.3.9 with all OSX updates including Quicktime and pro app support 3.1.
Please Help! I'm so close to having my favoritist editing program back in working condition.
