I'm trying to capture 30 dvcam tapes that someone else shot and I keep getting timecode breaks every 3 minutes or so. I'm wondering if this could possibly be nondrop frame footage (when I tried to recapture one of the clips I got an error message stating that I was trying to capture ndf to a drop frame clip). I tried the firewire ndf device control and set my deck to ndf timecode and still am getting timecode breaks, this time around the minute and a half mark. Also, the tapes playback fine, even frame by frame. Does anyone have any ideas how I can capture these tapes, without going the non-controllable device route?

In User Preferences, set the "Warn on timecode break:" to "Warn after capture". Should just capture fine after that.

Thanks man. I tried this and I'm not able to save the clip. When the capture is complete, I get an error message saying that there was a timecode break within the clip. Am I doing something wrong?

It should still save the capture.

It's not anywhere in the capture scratch. Is there another setting that I need to change?

Double check your capture scratch settnigs in System Prefs. I do this and always end up with the clip captured, in my capture scratch, and in my browser. I'm OOT now, but will play around with this when I get back home next week.
