I'm not sure of any of this so I need to ask.

If I were to shoot a feature intended to go straight to DVD, how should I or shouldn't I shoot this?

Can I shoot it in HD?

Will shooting in HD have any impact in film output (I were to go that route)?

I know these can be vague questions but I need to figure out the right and wrong way to technically approach this.

HD? Sure. Resolution-wise, it's closer to film, so a film-out will have less of that nasty, pothole-filled road to travel.

But then you have to decide what camera to use...oy.

I chose HD for the feature I'm shooting because it gives you options later in case you need to go to film. Its always better to have the rez even though you are going to SD for now.
