Once I get my HVX, I'd like to pick up an M2, but I'm not sure which one to get. I know most people like to use the Nikon lenses, but I already have a few Canon EOS lenses from my still camera.

So I was wondering if there's any big difference in image quality between Canon and Nikon with the M2.

No they are both good lenses. Only difference would have to do with whether the individual lenses have manual exposure and focus control and whether they are for "digital" cameras or true SLR lenses. generally you want SLR lenses.

The lenses I have can be switched to manual or auto focus.

I also have a bunch of Sigma lenses made for Canon EOS. I'm assuming they would work the same.

EOS lenses can be manual focus, but not manual apeture. When you take an EOS lense off of the body of your SLR camera, the apeture snaps to full open. That is why people like the older nikkons, the apetures are fully manual. Without a manual apeture, you will probably over-expose the GG in the M2 unit and get a crummy image. Some old Cannon lenses have manual apetures also, thats what I use. Canon FD primes.
