Hey everyone. I'm a bit bummed. Just got a new hard drive and spent the last two days restoring it with the old drive's data. Everything works fine except...you guessed it...Final Cut Pro 4.0!

The program begins to launch and just as the audio filters are loading it "unexpectedly quits" with no error message other than that.
I've reinstalled the program, repaired disk permissions, and even followed advice from a forum I found saying to delete a certain plug-in audio file, which I didn't have.

I am at a loss. Several projects going on and no way to finish them.
Anyone have this problem before?
I know it's an older version but I'm poor...gotta make it work.

Using a Power PC dual G4 and running OSX.3.9

Please help?

The problem could possibly to do with the Intel and PowerPC thing. FCP 4, isn't really compatible with the whole idea of Intel. I no in the office we use all different versions of FCP, and we have had some big problems with FCP 4 on our intel machines.

Try using a copy of FCP 5 or 6. See if that works.

If that doesnt Work or you cant get hold of a copy, your FCP settings could be corrupt, Delete FCP from your computer, then goto

Username>Library>Preferences and delete the folder with Final Cut Pro User Data and also delete com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist

Reinstall FCP

See If this does the trick.

Best
Nathaniel
