Hey guys I wrote a song for the season called “Christmas Card” and Jack Daniel Stanley broke in the new HVX he won here doing a video promo for it!

(right click and download the promo to save Jack's bandwidth please)

Other DVXuser involement would be the pretty lady in the video, Lauren Assad (http://silvermodels.com/folio.php?id=132), who signed on through Adam Silver’s (DVXnerd’s) modeling agency (http://silvermodels.com/), and of course we couldn’t have pulled it off without Mark Harris who lit the green screen and the pretty lady.

To check out or download the full cut of the song visit the band Government Yule's (http://www.governmentyule.com) homepage.

Or, the single is also available in iTunes (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playListId=201320535) by searching the phrase “government yule”. … You should have seen Jack doing the zoom effects in camera, he was playing that zoom ring like Jimi Hendrix!

Special thanks to my wife, Joan, and lets not forget Jarred and Barry for buying Jack an HVX

Cool Erik!

Reserving this post for some coming gag reel and outtake footage ... watch out Mark

I had a blast and learned a lot. It was a great shoot to break the camera in on!

From a purely technical standpoint... very nice work! Darn clean key on that image... even with her hair flying every which way... cool stuff.

Damn, Jack. I hate you (in an envious way, of course) What were your settings if I may ask. Great looking footage, man.

Great looking stuff guys. Very nice clean images. I'll be honest, I think the zooming could have been played a little more like "Castles Made of Sand" and a little less like "Purple Haze", but it looks great and is a fun one to watch.

I second Jason's request for settings:)

I think I had a siezure.
Looks cool, but that much contrast makes the actress's skin look kind of gross. I would tone it down a little.

Ok I think it was pretty much scene 6 maybe with the master ped pushed down a few clicks.

720PN
frame rates 12, 24, 48, 60
shutter 250 for all rates.

We played the music at 50% for her to dance to when we shot at 12fps and 200% when we shot at 48fps and winged it for 60fps.

I forgot to put the camera in the correct frame rate once so you an see what it looked like for her to perform at half or double speed.

Shooting at 12fps with the track at 50% is how you can get that ridiculously tight coreography / how did they snap from that one movement to the next that quick look.

But I'll put up the altered speed music tracks and the take I forgot to put the camera in a non 24p frame rate. (there's no sound when you shoot other than 24p and if there was it would sound normal because like film it plays back at 24ps so when you shot at 12fps if you recorded music playing back at 50% speed it would of course play back normal at 24fps which is why her movements would time out to the music playing at 24fps even though you shot at 12fps ... make sense sort of?)
