Over the weekend i was starting to work on a DIY crane but i wanted a remote head so i spent the last day working on this deisgn for a RC servo powered Tilt - Pan head.

I plan to take the Cad and get it done on a CNC machine. i plan to use 1/4" aliuminum.

btw, this was my first shot at a 3D Model.

I was working on something like this for a while, modeling it after the Vista camera head since it looks like such a simple design.

I purchased a powerful servo and hacked it so it would rotate 360 degrees. After spending about $200 I found that servos made it have very jerky movements, especially at start and stop. Also servos are noisy.

*edit*

I don't mean to discourage you, and I hope you succeed. Keep us updated :)

The servos are a little noisy but not to bad. The thing with the jerky moves is in the controller, i was testing and if i am easy on the throttle and when i let it off its not bad. but if i let go it just stops.
