Hello all. I just moved up from a Canon GL2 to the DVX100a. I'm really loving it so far but I have a question. Is it possible to send the same info you see in the viewfinder (zebra stripes, apeture, etc.) to an external monitor? I've got one of the Panasonic 7" LCDs hooked up to the video out RCA jack and it would be nice if I could see this info. I've checked the manual and done a search here but I can't seem to find how to do this or if it is even possible.
Thanks

Have you tried going to VCR playback mode. Menu settings. Item 4 Display setup and go to OSD (on screen display) and turn on.

Oops, no I haven't, If I did it probably would work. ;)
With your help I found it, manual page 48. Sometimes retatrdo man needs a shove in the right direction. I have much to learn... ;D
Seriously, thanks for the help. This board is great.

. . . . osd has cam info except for zebra - won't show zebra - what's the logic there then Panasonic?- I suppose to output such animated info it would need an 128Mb AGP graphics card fitting inside the dvx somewhere ? ! lol - oh yes and a 7inch cooling fan.

Thanks for the info. I have all the settings showing except the zebras. I thought I might have missed some other setting for that. The marker shows up, which is helpful.
