PQ vs MQ MiniDV Tapes

I know this has been covered many times before, but I cannot seem to find an actual answer to this question. Does anyone know what the difference is between the Panasonic Professional Quality and Master Quality tapes? Also, is it safe to switch between them?

Some people say that there is no problem at all. Personally, I am sticking to MQ.

Jarred, since questions about tapes are asked quite a lot, can we have an FAQ on this?

This way people don't keep posting the same questions over and over.
