Hi all,
Can anyone help me out here. I am trying to figure out some dimensions here of the CO +7 diopter (achromat/macro). I saw on some website the achromat is very thick. Can someone tell me how thick in mm is the achromat? Really appreciate the info.
Also, I have a +4 and +3 HOYA macro I am using with my adaptor, is using the HOYA macros (which is in two pieces screwed onto each other) similar to using the one piece +7 CO diopter?
Thanks.

While it is similar in the magnification level it provides, you will see chromatic aberration from using two macros rather than a single achromat. You'll also be more likely to see edge smearing with the use of macros as they tend to be lower in quality. That's just a general observation, I've never used HOYA macros.

Aside from Century Optics or Schneider +7 lens what other brands or company provide similar type lens. I've searched for similar type achro's but just can not find any other that are 7+ and double element type lens.
Any suggestions or substitutes that could be used in place of this lens?

Hello,
We will soon be making the SGpro's r2 HD achromat available as a seperate item for £99 ($194). It is be in a black anodized 72mm threaded ring (male and female) and fully Anti reflection coated. It is the same achromat used in the SGpro r2 units, and has been tested with the HVX200 and HD100. Its strength is roughly +8 (little stronger the the CO +7)

I sell the achromat used in the Go35Pro separate of the adapter. It's priced at $195.00. It is encased in black anodized aluminum, 52mm threads, and has a magnification power greater than +8:

In regard to my earlier post here is another alternative to the CO 7+ lens. It has more power than the CO +7 and it is a 2 element lens achromatic diopter.
This is not the cheaper version of the lens, those 10+ lens were just the single or 1 element lens. This should help you with your DOF adapter. This should also work with the ED35 version 2 adapter.

I will continue to hunt for an over the counter 8+ or 7+ diopter type lens.
Hope this helps,
