Any links or pointers on how to make a heart in maya? I'm also curious on how to make the scene/human insides look so real.

This is a pretty broad question. There is so much to 3d it's hard to answer questions like this.
I would start looking for poly modeling tutorials to learn how to model. Then start looking into shaders, unwrapping and texturing. I'm not sure how much you know about 3d but that's basically how you apply color and texture to your objects. To make things look 'real' you need a good eye with extreme attention to detail. Really that's all it is... being aware of your surroundings and paying attention to ALL of it :) Then you just need to understand WHY things look the way they do. Why is there bounce light. Why is there really no such thing is as 'specular' highlights.
Umm yeah, broad question. Cheers.

http://www.highend3d.com/maya/ has some free shaders to download. At one point I know there was a few internal organ shaders.

If you have some money to spend you can try 3dscience.com (http://www.3dscience.com) from Zygote (http://www.zygote.com). I used their anterior cut heart (http://www.3dscience.com/3D_Models/Human_Anatomy/Heart/Heart_3_Anterior_Cut.php)model for a project and it was amazing.

Thanks guys for the help, I wrote the questions kind of in a hurry, but yes I should have gone into further detail. What I meant to ask was how to get the insides to look so glowy (which I've found out) and to look like fluid, blood, etc..
Is there a way to make the fluid, blood, etc.. effect if I don't have maya unlimited/fluid effect?
WOW those models are really good, would love to see the clip. :)
