I realize that this is going to at first seem like a crazy question, but I need to know the best method to revert 24PA back to 60i and yet get the very best final product in 60i.
My problem: Several months ago, I did an interview that I shot in 24PA with an Anamorphic Lens. The footage looks great. But now I want to complete the project, and the cutaway shots, and the rest of the wedding is going to be shot in 60i.
I know that I don't have a problem when shooting in 24P to use 60i since the pulldown is 29.97 but because I shot this footage that will need a 2:3:3:2 pulldown for 23.98, what is the best method to get back to 60i?
One of my thoughts was to capture the 24PA footage using the advanced pulldown, then dump it back out to tape then recapture the same footage, but this time using the standard pulldown and 60i.
Does this make any sense, or should I just capture the 24PA footage and treat it as 60i right from the get-go?
thanks for any help on this,
eric
