howdy,

does anyone know if a Zeiss lens (Planar T* 50mm f/1.7) made for CONTAX photocamera would be compatible with any of the adapters (such as M2 or Sgpro or G35) that could later be mounted on HVX200 or DVX100.

Has anybody tried this?

What about using lenses from Nikon SLR photocameras? Whould it be possible to mount those? Or do I necessarily need to by the DigiPrimes range from Zeiss???

cheers

Hello,

One of the guys from Redrock (the company that makes the M2) says the new Zeiss Nikon mount lenses are the "gold standard" of lenses for the M2 adaptor. Apparently they're just incredible. I have an opportunity to do some tests with these lenses in the next few weeks. Can't wait to see how they look.

These are the lenses he was talking about:

Hope this helps. :)

hello, i use all zeiss contax lenses.
zeiss 28mm f2.8, 35mm f2.8, 50mm f1.4, 85mm f1.4, 135mm f2.8
and they work great. Although it will take u a little time to track them down.
I use them with a M2 but u can use them with just about any adapter with a c/y to eos mount.

The only adapter which is available with a c/y mount is the sg35. (That i know of.)
I've seen footage with those new nikon F mount zeiss lenses. They work too.
