Hi,
It will only work once both that engager pin is 'jammed' and also the lens is fully locked onto the mount. I use a small peice of electrical wir cut to the right size to jam the pin.

one thing that worries me is that i test it with the rear cup and it seams to
open from f-22 to f-5.6 what dos it mean?

you mean the rear lens cap? Most of the rear lens caps i have used on Canon FD dont fully twist and engage, only about halfway, and is probably the reason why the aperture does not fully open, not until the lens is FULLY engaged onto the mount.

So, is the default state of the lens aperture half way through then? What else can I use to make the engager wide open? Would a paper clip do the job? I'm trying to figure out items that I may have at home.
