Both of my PCs are having fits with the Firestore. I used to be able to move footage off the Firestore to a HDD. Now, when I plug in the firewire cable the XP OS detects it as a Panasonic DV Camera and installs a driver. When I go to DD and Enable, it fails. The DV Camera driver seems to be causing the FS-100 to fail to connect with the computer. I've disabled and uninstalled the Panasonic DV Camera driver and it continually returns upon detection of the FS-100.
I've emailed Focus about the issue. They weren't helpful with a resolve.
Has anyone had this problem and know a workaround or fix within the XP OS?
Thanks for your help!!:)
Michael

The only time my FS100 failed to mount was when I had forgotten to switch the firewire plug from the I/O port to the To Computer port....sounds like a simple thing to miss...but...could that be your issue?

In my exhausted state from the filming schedule I missed that minor detail. Thank you for the reminder. It works perfectly now!

On another note, it is nice to see another Firestore user here. What NLE are you using?

FCP....and there are LOTS of FS100 folks here. You'll never be at a loss for help...pretty damn handy place to have access to.

And, from what I understand from Focus Enhancements, the majority of FS-100 users are FCP users, too. When 3.0 hits public release, dudes, it's gonna be very worth the $30 or so they'll ask for it. Trust me, it's gonna blow you away...

Well, David, if you can't trust Ben, trust me. The 3.0 Firestore upgrade will be well worth the small fee that Focus is charging.
