Hey everybody,

Check out the new feature film "Closure". It was shot for $25,000.00 with the DVX-100a. This is a first time feature for director Douglas Downing III.

Here's the info on it.

Brief Synopsis,

For the average twenty-year-old college male, "Spring Break" is a time to "cut it loose" and "get wild". No matter what the destination is, heavy drinking and plenty of irresponsible behaviors are on the horizon, but not for "LUKE WISER" our twenty-year-old main character. For Luke he will spend "Spring Break" driving to his hometown to confront the man that sexually abused him as a child.

Also make sure to check the fall issue of filmmaker magazine, there's an article about closure in the In Focus column. Closure will be hitting the 2007 festival circuit.

I hope everyone is well,

Thanks.

Yeah I saw that and looked into the film a while ago, looks greatly made and as stated, "powerful".

I hold watched the first trailer and I agree with everyone else who says the movie will be "powerful"
but I think the first shot is interesting but not as captivating as it could be, it doesn't draw the audience in. The little boys voice is indistinguishable from a teenage girl and I think you could do something differently to initially pull the audience in. Perhaps stills of the vulnerable child character? Something is missing from the beginning but your entire concept is very powerful.

Wow, that looks like a tough subject for a first time filmmaker. Did you use the onboard mic? Sounded a little hollow, but maybe youtube compression?

Thanks for all the feedback, we will keep you posted. No, they used some pretty expensive audio equipment. They recorded the audio from the outside of the bathroom door. They wanted to get the effect of how we would hear if we we're listening from the outside of the bathroom. The film was shot in a voyeuristic-documentary style. The director is trying to show how we are all voyeurist and most people would just watch instead of help, this can be seen throughout the film. But youtube did mess with the compression a bit.

Again, thanks for the feedback.
