Should the vertical frequency setting be on thin or thick when shooting 24p to tape?
Final output will be to film and or DVD.

If final output is DEFINITELY going to film then you should set it to thin.
Why you would shoot to tape if film is the final destination is beyond me though.

If final output is to film, you shouldn't be shooting 480 at all. Shoot 1080.

Thank you for the suggestions. I already tried an HD P2 sales pitch. Because the producer shot 90 percent of the footage on a DVX, he does not want to change his workflow for a few pick up shots.

Well, if you insist on going to tape, at least shoot 24PA in THIN mode...
