Hi all,
I'm wanting to upgrade my Windows hardware.
I've just received Edius v4 to go with my HVX and am needing some more power.

What are peoples thoughts on Core2Duo vs Opteron.
It would seem to me that Opteron is much cheaper, but slower, is the speed going to be that much of a difference?

cheers,
Geoff

I am using a core duo 2.16 with 2 gig ram on Edius Broadcast 4.1. It speeds through most anything.

Apple is the way to go. It is and has always been the up hill, and cutting edge. Not to mention the FREAKIN SUPER FAST COMPUTERS, and High RAM capabilities.

ummm, I don't believe he asked anything about apple...

that said I am personally planning on a C2D upgrade myself. I have recently flown on a C2D system and wow! I mean it when i say flown.

I agree that Apple's C2D's scream with the HVX200.

I know you are looking at PCs, but it is worth considering.
