I'm using final cut to edit a feature and my sequence is in standard dv ntsc 29.97 but I shot some interviews on the hvx and I shot them too dark, now when I color correct them in an hd sequence they respond well but when I try to bring them into my dv ntsc sequence they get all muddy. I've tried exporting them using compressor and as a final cut movie but the same thing happens mud mud mud, any ideas on what I should do, I have to get a decent cut of the film out by monday

Have you tried bringing the uncorrected DVCPRO HD footage into a DV timeline and correcting there? And how are you correcting? For underexposed shots, I sometimes raise the mid-tones but try to do it sparingly so as to avoid introducing too much grain. Just by virtue of DV compression you will introduce a certain amount of "muddiness" into the image. Try bringing uncorrected footage into your DV sequence and checking it in your NTSC monitor.
