Thanks.
Just finished the script...trying to keep it simple. I started with a vision and stuck with it. My main worry is my script is uplifting. Not cheesy but not entirely dark and negative. I know everyone is doing intense and dark but I think I will just try to capture what came out on the page. If I change it to do what I think will get votes or good reviews will degrade it. Right? Is a semi-happy ending a taboo in a drama film? Can a drama film have funny moments? I say drama is everything.....life.

I dont think a drama must leave your crying and wanting to kill yourself. Presenting the viewer with a dramatic situation is one thing. How you turn events is completely up to you. Many movies have that, like Philadelphia. I always cry at the end, but the video of young Andy playing by the sea is so hopeful and sends out a very positive sign and energy.

Don't worry about a happy ending at all. One of your main goals is to get the audience to feel for the character and really get attached to him or her. Once you have that, you're money...

Actually, I lost the passion for this one and ran out of time to deal with the complicated script I wrote. ( 6 actors etc.) I decided to make a more simple film called Your Loving Husband. I am about 3/4 done. I learned from my horrorfest entry that simple is better for me. I should probably start a new thread but I wanted to make sure I actrually get this one done....Looking forward to checking out all the films.
