03.11.06
This is my teaser. I'm not entirely sure where it's going right now but, I'm
sure it will come together sooner or later.

08.12.06
It is my pleasure to inform DVXUSER that the immensly talented Herman Witkam
has joined us to score Night & Fog! Very rare individual here and I expect nothing
short amazing of any project he is involved in. Thankyou Mr. Witkam!!!!

13.12.06
Script is almost done. I've done a few location scouts but, nothing entirely
concrete yet. I've updated my teaser and also I'm in the build phase of my
DIY 35mm for this fest. I hope it works.

13.12.06
New banner and poster design.
I decided on a completely different approach to the promotion imagery. The
red and black was a little harsh for my subject matter and did not convey
the emotion I had intended.

08.01.07
Oh god... finally finished the script. I've cut out just
about anything and everything that is not relavant to the story. What a
pain! On to the casting phase which I'm a week behind schedule with. The
holidays have a way of putting a little dark cloud above my head.

14.01.07
Auditions rescheduled for MLK day. More script finetuning...
4 of 6 locations are verified. Costumes? Hmm... most roles are
in civilian clothing except for 8 minor characters. Building an
animatic for Herman to work with. Hopefully I can knock this
out tonight. Time to breakout the pencils ya'll!

Digging the poster. I hope this next film is as pretty visually as your last was.

Is it going to be in french or english?

Night and Fog is an important 1955 film about Auschwitz.

Inexistence
11-08-2006, 02:29 AM
Yes. That is correct. Nacht und Nebel. Hitler's The Night and Fog Decree.

This is not about WWII this time around for me but, more or less how
the name and meaning applies to current events. Argh! I'm giving
away too much information.

eric, i called you last night, did you get the message?

Like the title. The poster screams Edgar Allen Poe to me ... that the style of story/tone you're going with?

That's the first thing that came to my mind. Very intriguing. I love it.

Wanted to bump this up... more for Eric I guess than anyone else.

Also, you wrote this in my thread last fest:

I would answer that here but, that could muckup the Developed thread. I might
start a seperate thread about what everyone values when interpreting/reviewing
horrorfest films.

You were mentioning why you didn't like the hollywood polish that "everyone seems so addicted to like crack"
I would love to hear you spill your beans on this one... Because I do agree with you.

Cool poster and information so far.

Your banner is the 1st one in the history of banners here that made click on it sheerly out of the design and not "oh, so and so's film thread is up I'll go check it out" but rather "that's a cool looking banner, wtf is it for?"

looking forward to more updates and information.

Thanks JDS and 235! Updates are coming in a few weeks, the script requires
mounds and mounds upon mounds of fact checking. I'm in over my head on
this one!

BTW I'm updating my site in the next few days so everything is down for the
moment. It needed refreshing.

Inexistence
12-12-2006, 11:20 PM
Fact checking is now done and the script is coming along quickly now. That reminds
me I gotta send Herman something in the mail tomorrow.

I've got a new toy for Drama-fest. I was growing sick and tired of the DVX lens so I
made one of these!

Thanks! I'll be shooting after the New Year when all the decorations are down
and yes I developed my adapter for this fest. After the last fest I quickly realized
I needed selective focus. Now that I have it I can't live without it!

It needs a nice powder coating!!!

Thanks Blaine! Although I think I might have to pull the plug on this one...
Locations keep dissapearing as well as a whole host of other problems. I'll know
by tomorrow afternoon. If so, I'll be shooting a lower profile short just to have
something to enter.

ah damn, eric. dude. i was really looking forward to this. -- ah well, onward, my friend! there is money to be made! ;) only joking.

also, the latest on your adapter??
-kyle

Inexistence
01-18-2007, 11:00 PM
Thanks guys! I'm going to keep pluggin' away at this one so all of
the hard work put into it won't go to waste. After viewing the script,
locations not up to par and the time constraint, I decided it was a good
time to stop and take a long step back. I'm considering putting scenes
back into the script that were sacrificed for time. Actually this might be
good thing because of the possible injustice to the victims by NOT covering
ALL the events.

Anyways, stay tuned for my backup Drama-fest entry which hits smack
dab in the middle of the genre. Please watch it... please?

Kyle, I'm gonna put this adapter through the wringer for this fest entry:)

Work adapter! Work!

Ted Arabian
01-20-2007, 07:19 AM
backup Drama-fest entry?

Intriguing!

Also, I didn't realize that you were working on an adapter. Are you seriously shooting a "backup" entry and using your adapter? Curious to know!

Inexistence
01-20-2007, 09:08 AM
Yes, Ted Arabian! It's most likely going to be a little improv, nice camera angles and
wee bit of CC to finish it off. One day shoot and a couple of days to edit. I almost
have the poster done here and I'm anxious to get the thread up and running!
