Can the M2 or Brevis35 mount Sigma lenses?

Yes. Sigma makes their lenses for nikon, canon, etc. Just pick a mount for the M2, like the nikon mount, and make sure your sigma lens will fit nikon cameras.

Great news, thanks! :)

I was looking into someday getting the new Signma SD14 camera and wanted to make sure all was coolio.

That camera uses the sigma SA mount, you would need to make sure that the 35mm adapter has that mount (or one compatable) as well.

Aren't sigma auto lenses, don't you need a manual lens for 35mm adaptor ?

Not too familiar with the actual lenses Sigma makes. I just like their FOVEON line of digital still cameras. But yes, you need manual 35mm lenses for the M2 and Brevis35 adaptors.

Yes you do want manual focus lenses. But some of the newer lenses allow you to switch from autofocus to manual. There is usually a little toggle switch on the lens. You can find out more about what specific lenses will work on the www.redrockmicro.com (http://www.redrockmicro.com) community forum.

I've been using the SD9 since 2004. The way the camera records colors seems slightly different and more pleasing to my eye than other DSLRs. I was surprised when the SD14 was announced-- I thought Sigma had thrown in the towel on the Foveon sensor because of the long delay since the last product.

Yeah, my friend has the SD9 - I've tried it and it's fantastic. I'm glad Sigma finally introduced a new model with the SD14. The FOVEON technology is truly amazing. And it seems that, unfortunately, not too many people know about it.

The SD14 looks kinda cheapo. I'd love to get my hands on one though, just to check out the image quality.

I don't see why not . . .

They're really sweet cameras.

Thread resurrection! :)

I finally did buy a Sigma SD14 DSLR after surmising that the SD15 is delayed indefinitely. I suspect they scrapped it in favor of a complete redesign. I got mine with a Nikon mount and I really dig this cam as the FOVEON sensor is very unique in the way it captures light. It's a little modest on features compared to other cameras in its class, but it is still fully capable of reproducing some absolutely stunning images. It has that "color mojo," much like Panasonic has a reputation for having. It also produces extremely film-like and almost 3D-ish images. People tend to either love this line of cameras or hate them. Personally, I'm a fan. I look forward to the next iteration of a FOVEON-based Sigma camera.
