I´m shooting a video using 1080i and 720p making slow motions.
What is the easiest way to mix these formats together in edit?? I´m using either fcp or premiere. Should I make 720p timeline and bring the 1080 footage there and resize it to fit the 720p window or make 1080 project and some how up convert the 720p footage??
Please help. This is my first time editing hd material...

Drop 1080 in 720 timeline and will work fine. Also do a search on the HVX section, there has been numerous topics covering this. good luck

The easiest way in final cut is to use the media managers 'recompress' function. Select a sequence or clip, go to 'media manager' and select recompress, then select either 1080 or 720 (or whatever format in the list you want). Final cut will make a new version of the footage that is in the new format you selected.
So for instance if you want everything in 1080 just recompress all the 720 stuff up to 1080. then edit everything in 1080.
All quite easy and stays in final cut.
