Written and Directed by Christopher Johnson
Produced by Pamela Witte
Cast: Yet to be determined
Dramafest is official on my side with Voted Best Couple. This has the potential of being the most ambitious project I've tackled. We're getting everything together to shoot with approximatley 100 extras around a principle cast of five.
The treatment is written, and the script will hopfully be finished shortly. Stay tuned to this thread for more info.

Alright, meeting's over.
We're definitely in for Dramafest, but we've got about four different ideas on the table in addition to Voted Best Couple, so this might not be the film we end up making. We'll try to have the final story decision made by Monday.
After much consideration I've decided to leave the Voted Best Couple poster up since Kyle likes it so much. :)

Original post updated with more information.
It looks like my tentative posting paid off. Voted Best Couple is definitely what we're going with for DramaFest. Let the preproduction commence!

Curious about how you got your 100+ extras and how you manage them. Would love to see some set shots when you have them. I'm anxious to see how this plays out and what your story is. You certainly have my attention with that nice intriguing poster.

Me too :)
Seriously though, it's not 100% signed, sealed, and delivered, but it's looking pretty good at the moment. The extras and the locations were the two things that were keeping me from comitting to Voted Best Couple in the beginning. Now that it seems those two things are going to come together, we're approaching it full steam ahead.
Once it's all ironed out I'll post more info and BTS stuff.
Thanks for your interest!

Indeed... I am assuming the 100 extras are at the prom or school dance...

I love to give a date. Coming back for Christmas at least. Then who knows I may be off to Indiana for a project if all works out.

Rough Draft of the script is finished.
Now we're cooking with evil gas. (I'm not really sure what that means....)

Hey Chris,
If this is anywhere near as good as LifeLine (I loved that movie) you'll have a winner on your hands.

Thank Blaine, I really appreciate that.
I'm really looking forward to what everyone produces in this fest. All past fests have been fantastic, but this one really stands to produce material the likes of which we haven't really seen on DVXUser.

Greetings everyone. I've been quiet for a while regarding the project. Despite a very positive beginning I'm sad to say that the production has fallen apart this past week. We hit many stumbling blocks mostly related to locations. I thought that we could surmount them, and we still may be able to, but not in time for Dramafest.
The good part of this is that everyone involved in the project thus far really wants it to succeed, so the pool of talent is still there. Since things aren't going to fuse together for Dramafest I'm going to go back to the script and work it through a few more rewrites since I'm not under a six minute time constraint anymore. Then we'll give the production another go and see if we can still get the film made. If that comes together then I'll make a new thread in the User Films section to keep everyone in the loop.
Sorry to disappoint. I really appreciate all of the interest and positive feedback that you guys have given me just based on a teaser poster. It means a lot.
Here's to hoping that Voted Best Couple gets made soon, to competing against everyone in the next fest, and to all of your entries for Dramafest.
