No Audio Channel 1 Avid Express Pro HD 5.6

Hi,
I just got the new Avid, first time uding the P2 cards.
Everything seemed to come in fine except there is no audio on channel 1.
We know its there-it's not registering on the meter and we can't hear anything.
Import problem? Why are all the other channels there?
Please Help.

You should post this in the Avid section as well as on the AVID site. By the way, I just noticed I have the same problem. No audio on Channel 1 even tho the audio is there (I can hear it in the headphone out of the HVX and I can see it in Pro Tools.

I ran into the same problem, this is what I did to fix it.

1) Shut down AVID

2) Go into the MXF folder inside the Avid MediaFiles, and move everything out into a separate directory outside the MXF - I made a folder called "backup" inside the Avid MediaFiles directory.

3) Delete the two avid .pmr and .mdb files that are left in the MXF directory.. AVID will regenerate those when you open AVID next. If you use subfolders within the MXF directory like

1.Some Footage
2.Other Footage
3.More Footage

Then make sure you delete the mdb and pmr files in each directory.

4) Move just one set of MXF files back into the MXF directory, that is the video file, and the 4 audio files.

5) Load AVID and import the clip throught the Media Tool. Slam the clip on a timeline and play it - it should play now with all audio tracks

6) Exit AVID and move another chunk of files over.

Usually when I clean out the directory like that, and move everything back over, all is well again.. it might work just to delete the two AVID database files in the directories.. haven't tried just that before.. will try next time it happens to me.

Let me know if that fixes it for ya! It really scared me the first time cause I thought maybe my wireless lav didn't record my clients audio. Yikes! But alas it was there, whew.

Anyway let me know your findings.
