I have some shots in 720/25p in 50fps taken with HVX-200 and the FS-100 and I don't know how to use it in FCP 5.1. The DVCPRO Frame Rate Converter only work with shots with 60fps, and the editing timebase only accepts 30, 59.94 and 60 frames.
Anyone have the same problem? I think Apple are discriminating the "PAL guys".
Can anyone give me some help?

Try using Cinema Tools that comes with FCP.
Just go -File-BatchConform
Choose a clip in the folder where all your clips that need converting are.
Click OK, choose a framerate (25), Conform and Bobs-your-Uncle they all convert in the blink of the eye.
Now just make a timeline in FCP for the resolution you want, at 25fps, no field order.
I've been trying to convert a 50fps clip with cinema tools as you described.
Problem is the clip only plays back for half it's duration in FCP.
Any ideas ?

If your shots are in 720/25pn at 50p you don't have to convert them with Cinema Tools. Drop the clips in a 25p timeline and you'll have your clips in slow motion. If your shots are 720p50, then you have to do what electricpig said. If you want to edit in a 50p timeline, there is not this option in FCP.

4Mat, the clips should play for double the time, because they are now running at 25fps rather than 50.
I've just done it all myself here again, no problems.
Load the original 50fps, and the conformed 25fps back into FCP in the browser and drag them back into the 720P 25fps timeline. The original 50fps should have an orange line above it (because it's timebase is wrong), but the conformed 25fps version will drop straight in, require no rendering, and be twice as long (and will also play with distorted/stretched sound)
Make sure you have no out-point set from the original 50fps footage. That's the only reason I can think as to why your conformed footage only plays back for half it's duration.
I've sussed it now, when you batch conform a clip it makes a new folder called 'conformed 25' containing the conformed clips. I was importing the old clip as I didn't know to look for the other folder.
