I have been importing my P2 footage into FCP with no probelm. I want to archive my footage to a stock library. I export using QT. Is this the best way...do I lose any thing by doing it this way. When viewing my exported QT's by themselves...they don't look as good as when I bring in my footage right from the P2 in FCP.

There are a lot of parameters within quicktime that can affect your exports. So forget about exporting. When FCP imports the MXF's it converts them to quicktime anyway. Simply save the original QT's and save yourself a lot of time.
For a stock library you do not want to be downgrading the footage in any way. Ideally I guess you should archive the MXF's for cross platform support.

why would you want to export a quicktime file to a quicktime file for archiving? Just archive the files in the capture scratch. This extra step you want to take confuses us.
